Mistress Persephone, the Living Legend of Fetish, Goth, and Horror.

SpyderBaby:I am guessing you are a fiend of Greek mythology
since your name is that of Persephone, Goddess of Death and Queen of the Underworld?

M.P.:Yes, the myth of Persephone was a favorite of mine since I learned to read at
the age of five. I used to collect mythology books at the book fair when it would come to my school. I enjoyed reading about ghosts, spirits, mythical creatures and most of all, Greek mythology. The duality of her nature mirrored my own so I decided to take on the name when i started stripping and needed a "dancer" name. I thought it suited me so I have continued to use it.

SpyderBaby:Mistress Persephone, Can you please tell us a little
history about yourself?

M.P.:I have been modeling for about 10 years in the fetish industry in print and video, working as a pro domme since 1994 and have been doing live performance art since 1996.

SpyderBaby:How did you get started in a dominatrix?

M.P.:I dressed in corsets, stockings and fetish lingerie when I worked at the strip club and attracted many submissive customers that were looking more for a session than a mere lap dance. Some of them would ask for me to dig my heels into their nipples while I sat across from them on a chair and others would want me to remove my boots and put one over their face so they could smell them. After awhile of attending private play parties and learning BDSM firsthand, I decided to place an ad and pursue being a Mistress and fetish model full-time.

SpyderBaby:So far I know that you are a fetish
model, a dominatrix, and dancer. Are there any others
you would like to tell us ?

M.P.:Other than the art of dance I incorporate into my performance art or
occasional burlesque shows and what dancing I do at home on my stripper pole, I wouldn't consider myself a dancer by trade. I quit stripping in 1996 after working in a club for 3 years then featuring for a bit and finding it
lackluster.

SpyderBaby: Is there one in particular you prefer over the other, maybe because of it being more interesting  ?

M.P.:I don't really separate myself into different careers; I tend to see all as
different pieces to the same puzzle. Without one I would be incomplete but
just when I think I am getting to the last piece, I find there is still much
left to do.

SpyderBaby:Is this how you make a "living"?

M.P.:Yes. I have not worked a regular day job since i worked behind the counter selling sex toys at Fantasy Lingerie in 1992.

SpyderBaby:
Were there any influences?

M.P.:Everyone has influences...Mine have always been within the realm of EC comics, Hammer Films, Italian giallo, John Willie, Eric Stanton, 60s pop art, Mexican wrestling films. The list goes on forever. I started watching horror movies at three years of age, reading at five so my interests started young.

SpyderBaby:
Being in this industry, What was the strangest event in your life that you can remember?

M
.P.:Receiving a letter in the post from one of my fans several years ago that had enclosed within it a photo of herself wearing platform spikes from which very long toenails protruded onto my centerfold page from Leg Show magazine. Under the photo was written "Suck my big purple lollipops"

SpyderBaby: I know you are a faithful fiend and follower of the
misfits, when did this all come about?

M.P.:I haven't followed them since the release of Famous Monsters which I wasn't very fond of so I can't say I am a faithful follower anymore. I like what is good but when it goes sour I spit it out. I first became interested in the band in 1981 when i was nine years old because of their heavy horror influence and it continued from there.

SpyderBaby:Alright, Since you don't "follow" the misfits anymore, Have you heard of the ex singer of misfits, Michale Graves, new band called Graves?  What do you think about it?

M.P.:I am aware of the band's existence and I was invited by Chud and Doug Evil to check them out when they played at the Showcase Theater when they came through town last October but with my wedding plans, I just couldn't make it. I have never actually listened to their music and have no clue what they sound like. As busy as I get, it is not often I have time to hear music anymore unless it is playing in the background.

SpyderBaby:When you met Playboys creator, Hugh Hefner, What was
your impression?

M.P.:My impression was that he liked our performance so he wanted to be
photographed with us. It wasn't any sort of epiphany.

SpyderBaby:Did he seem pretty "down to earth"?

M.P.:The man was sitting there with four of his lady friends, one of whom is my friend Stacy Burke. He was surrounded by security but we were ushered over to him as we left the stage because he wanted to meet us. He seemed nice but as I said before, the planets did not change in alignment. He has had a very interesting life and meeting us (myself and my cast of performers) seemed to be another addition to it.

SpyderBaby:
There’s a wish list on your website. Do a lot of people send you things?

M.P.:Yes, I wouldn't have it if I didn't attract men who enjoyed buying me gifts and who am I to hurt their feelings?

SpyderBaby:What are some of them?

M.P.:Everything from stockings, high heels, boots and corsets to books, CDs, DVDs, caviar, camera equipment, lamps and furniture.

SpyderBaby:
Do you feel that you have accomplished everything life has to offer?

M.P.:The day you feel you have nothing more to do is the day you don't need to continue any longer. To want is to live.

SpyderBaby:What is yet to be fulfilled?

M.P.:I won't know that until it hits me. My ambition goes deep but with so many forks in the road, I tend to just go with whichever tine is sharpest.

SpyderBaby:Can you tell those people out there don't understand
why you are the way you are, and to help them understand?

M.P.:Not really because unless I know them personally, I don't understand who they are or what exactly it is they misunderstand. I am apathetic to those who critique me unless they are close to me and thus have reason to consider their opinions. What I do is live for myself and my own enjoyment and if others enjoy what I have to offer, then they are welcome to enjoy the ride.

SpyderBaby:
Describe your personality if a fiend were to approach you on the "streets".

M.P.:I am very multi-faceted but very down to earth. I am also moody so if someone annoys me, they generally know it right offhand. I am not much a player of the schmoozing game so I don't set out to impress people nor do I like to be impressed. Catch me on a good day and you are my friend for life if you are real. On a bad day you'll likely spew filth and profanities at the mere mention of my name because I can be brutally honest and I respect people of the same ilk.

SpyderBaby:I want to thank you for taking the time out of your
schedule to do this interview! Any last comments?

M.P.:Thanks for having me.
I want everyone to know about my websites:
www.mistresspersephone.net which has been online since 1996 and also my new site, www.sickchixxx.com which features thousands of photos from my body of work and loads of movie clips from my performances and videos. I also feature other model friends of mine that have the same line of thinking.
