QUICKSLIVER HIGHWAY - 1997 - Director:  Mick Garris

Stephan King and Clive Barker, arguably two of the biggest names in horror had their stories put to the screen in this one.  It's basically a "Creepshow" or "Tales From The Crypt" style of movie, except both stories are simply, well, not good.  The narrarator of both films is Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future).  He's a "collector" of stories and roams the highways looking for people to bore with his ramblings.  King's story is about a toy in the the shape of chattering teeth that helps out a traveling salesman.  Barker's story was about a physician's hands who rebel against his body.  This one is more comical, but too silly to be creepy at all.  They blatantly rip off effects from "The Adams Family" and "Evil Dead 2".  These stories might be allright for a weekly show, but not for a movie, even if it's one made for TV.  I don't blame the directing here, just a couple stories that don't, and never would be good for video or theater.
