POWERMAN 5000 - "Transform" - Dreamworks Hardcore fans of the band might be a little disspointed with the more "Rock" transformation the band has gone under, but for those tired of the Nu Metal sound, this tranformation is long overdue. The timing of this record is perfect, just in time for Summer where you can crank the tunes and piss off everyone in the vicinity. There's very little rap on this album and it resembles more of an AC/DC album than Limp Bizcuit. Spider sounds like he's enjoying himself versus the angst he's shown in the past. Sure, the subject matter is still rebellious, but the songs are so filled with hooks and catchy riffs, you can't help be get in a good mood. Is this a new begining for the band or just a phase? Only time will tell. In the meantime, I'll be cranking this one up for some time. Killer cuts: "Action", "Free", "Transform", "Theme To A Fake Revolution" and "Top Of The World". |
