Strait out of the 80's sleazy rock attitude comes Slik Helvetika with guitars like Vinnie Vincent and vocals that tribute all the screachers from the decade of decadance. You have to appreciate an unapologetic effort like this. Mikhal Myers is the the man behind the mayhem as he writes, produces and does all the guitars and vocals. With that under consideration it's a very strong project. One might think a project like this could only come from Europe, but the band is from Pilly for phuck's sake, which makes this even cooler! Myers guitar work is brilliant as his shredding cuts like a razor. His vocals are equally as impressive as his range is through stratosphere. In other words, it's about this time this guy gets out and kicks some ass! The only major thing holding this project back was a budget. The production sounds good most of the time, but it's almost over-produced and sometimes the guitars get lost a bit. The writing was generally strong for this style of Rock, and even though there's 15 tracks (12 full songs), it could have been streamlined a bit. However, these are minor flaws for those looking for over-the-top 80's style arena rock.
