THE DONNAS - "Bitchin" - 2007

Words can't describe how much I love the Donnas, I just can't help it, they remind me so much of the girl bands from the 80's I love like Scandal, The Go Go's, Joan Jet, Katrina And The Waves, The Bangles and the Runaways. I literally feel like it's 83 again and I'm in Junior High. What's cool is that this is NEW so I'm not completely stuck in the past! "Bitchin" is by far their strongest album, they've gotten so much better from top to bottom and the hooks are even more infectious than ever.

This one starts out with the unorthadox title track that's mostly an instrumental, after that "Don't Wait Up For Me" kicks off a string of delicious tunes, in fact there's hardly any wasted space on the entire recording. "Here For The Party", "Like An Animal", "Girl Talk", "Tonight's All Right" and "Smoke You Out" are just a few of the ass-kickers. They don't bother with a ballad, even though there's a fair share of love-struck tunes here. With the consistancy of and AC/DC album, The Donnas made "Bitchin" a classic in waiting, ah hell, let's call it one now.

Pop this one in the car stereo and crank the fucker up with the windows and top down, hopefully this kind of music replaces the annoying rap thump someday soon. If you don't like this stuff you think way to highly of yourself and take yourself too damn serious.
