If
there's such a thinks as "Alternative Sleaze", Switzerland's
"Dogs Bollocks" would fall under it. Much like Zamarro,
the other band that drummer Michael Hediger plays it, they combine
a lot of influences and sounds. Even though they are more pop-oriented,
I can't help but think of David Bowie. But perhaps it's more
the "swagger" in the music that even the sound. They
just bleed rock n' roll like the early Ziggy Stardust/Bowie
material. The music is more based in the 70's and even the 90's
than the 80's, although as a child of the decade of decadance,
I really like the mix they have. They're not so far from bands
like Hanoi Rocks and even more modern stuff like Backyard Babies,
they just don't quite have the edge those bands do.
I
can imagine the band is "Smokin" live (pardon the
pun). They are very upbeat and the louder you turn it up the
better it sounds. "Rebel Reload" and "Bitchin"
are great rock tunes, and to be honest there's hardly any tracks
that don't get your attention. They really "get it"
unlike a lot of the rock bands out there just trying to jump
on a trend, they' seem to be about creating their own.
