Sal Scoca from New York's "Sweet Cyanide" joined us on ROCK AND A HARD PLACE. These guys are amazing, if you like Classic Rock like Queen, Bowie, The Beatles, Bad Finger or others, and mix that with an 80's edge you're going to really appreciate this band. They have some amazing vocal harmonies and melodies going on. Check them out at www.sweetcyanide.com

SWEET CYANIDE - "Sweet Cyanide" - 2009

Trippy rock n' roll that manages to blend 70's Glam with a more modern Emo sound. Don't ask me how they did it, but if you listen closely you'll hear it. Maybe they set out to modernize the Glam scene or maybe they were trying to bring a retro sound to modern rock, either way it turned out pretty damn cool. I'm defiantely more into the 70's Glam than Emo, in fact, I can't stand the whiny Emo shit. Sweet Cyanide manages to steer away from the cry-baby shit and keep the cool melodies than Emo sometimes has. So in reality it's NOT EMO, but you can hear some traces of it. But even Emo is based on good old fashioned punk and rock n' roll so you can argue it does have some redeeming qualities.

There's also a softer side to the band that is reminiscent of Queen at times, The Beatles at other times. They are obviously students of Classic Rock and possess the talent to pull it off. Other bands that are doing a similar style might be Canada's Crash Kelly, and before them The Hellacopters. You can even go back to Enuff Z' Nuff in the 80's to find a similar style of band. Bottom line, Sweet Cyanide are a good mix of many styles from the past 40 years of rock!
